I had the great pleasure of working with Sommer Kinsler last Autumn. She played the lead role in my new musical ‘Tomorrow,’ written with composer Kristoffer Bjarke. This musical is not easy. It deals with themes of mental health and despair, but also requires versatility and comedic timing. Sommer attacked this challenge with focus, enthusiasm, and curiosity. Her insightful questions helped us as writers to better understand our own characters. Her professionalism and preparedness set her apart, and her performance was so astoundingly powerful and nuanced that she has set the gold standard for this role. In short, collaborating with Sommer was a dream come true and I look forward to my next opportunity to work with her.

  • Sommer celebrated Black History Month by directing a black music concert hosted by the band, NATROM on 2/28.

  • In the thick of the jungle as choreographer for Madagascar Jr. at Saltwater Performing Arts!

  • Playing make believe with k-2nd graders as Assistant Director for Saltwater Performing Art’s Aristocats!

  • Sommer made her debut as a choreographer with Saltwater Performing Art’s Junior Production of Willy Wonka (November 2025) and as Assistant Director for 101 Dalmations KIDS (December 2025).
